Erasmus+ in Dakar: two days of matchmaking between European and African institutions

PRACSIS was responsible for the design and delivery of the Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar for Sub-Saharan Africa, held on 19 and 20 May 2026 at the Hôtel Fleur de Lys in Dakar, with online participation running alongside the room. Our work covered the programme and content—building the agenda, briefing speakers and moderators, and preparing session materials—as well as the registration platform, the speed networking system, and the full logistical and technical organisation on site.

The event was part of the Regional Erasmus+ Week for Sub-Saharan Africa, organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

It brought together higher education and VET institutions from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, some already active in Erasmus+, others considering it, along with National Focal Points, National Agencies, EU Delegations in the region, the Commission and EACEA.

The theme was the role of Erasmus+ in developing skills for the future, with sessions showcasing mobility and cooperation projects that link European and African institutions under the programme priority "sustainable growth and jobs".

The second half of the programme was given over to speed networking, in the room and online, so that participants could find project partners directly. More than 150 online meetings took place.
