Powered by PRACSIS: the new BUILD UP portal

This January PRACSIS launched the new website of BUILD UP, the European portal for energy efficiency in buildings. Buildings account for 40% of Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions, making energy saving measures in the building sector a priority for the European Commission.

BUILD UP, a European Commission initiative managed by the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME), offers resources on energy efficiency in buildings, including information on European Union policy, different technologies, financing, business models and vocational training. The portal is open for any organisation to upload content.

PRACSIS, holder of the contract for the third consecutive period, has now delivered a full upgrade of the web portal, offering improved navigation, a new layout and mobile-friendly design.

To mark the launch of the improved website, BUILD UP organises an online event, where questions can be submitted to an expert panel. PRACSIS will provide the web-streaming services including filming and server hosting.

Background

40% of Europe’s carbon emissions come from buildings, making this sector is a top priority for the European Commission. Not only does the sector offer an enormous potential to reduce carbon emissions; it also offers chances to create jobs and growth.

In the wake of the European Commission’s strategy for an Energy Union, key legislation including the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive are currently reviewed.
