PRACSIS publishes CommNet’s 2014 Innovation Catalogue

PRACSIS is a partner of the EU-funded project CommNet whose objective is to assist in the dissemination of scientific results from research projects in the bioeconomy. CommNet started as an informal network of science communicators in food research and was created in 2005 through an initiative of the FP6 CASCADE Network of Excellence. A few weeks ago, CommNet published its 2014 Innovation Catalogue. It is the second edition of a publication that aims to bring the scientific community closer to its industry counterparts in order to boost the market uptake of new products and technologies.

CommNet’s Innovation Catalogue presents a selected set of EU-funded research projects in the bioeconomy. Each project is assessed in order to evaluate its level of technological readiness and discern its innovation and market potential. The 2014 Innovation Catalogue includes twelve projects operating in three focus areas: blue and white biotech/marine sciences, soils, water and fertilizers for agriculture and the foodchain.

There is a real need to bring together research, industry and business in Europe. CommNet’s Innovation Catalogue facilitates the interaction between showcased projects, technology transfer experts, business developers and representatives of the industrial and commercial sectors in the field of bioeconomy.
